

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of project execution for generator service and repair of customer projects. This job will require working with customers, shop operations, engineering, and outside vendors. Bidding and proposal information development will be a significant part of the overall responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather information from all available resources to develop and prepare project proposals.
Work with commercial and production operations to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with project execution.
Initiate and maintain liaison and communications with customers and other critical contacts to facilitate project activities.
Monitor and control projects to ensure they are completed on schedule and within budget.
Develop work schedules and communicate all work and schedule requirements with shop, field labor, engineering, suppliers, and outside contractors.
Provide follow-up throughout the duration of a project to insure that customers are informed of project progress, changes in work scope are properly handled and communicated, and shop and outside vendors are informed of material shipments and status, and work information status.
Update project budget and provide percent complete information for accounting.
Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in the use of PC’s and PC application software is necessary.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point) and knowledge of document management concepts and computer based document management systems is needed. Familiarity with Microsoft Project desired.
Familiarity with and application of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is desirable.
Familiarity with product and document management, including PDM systems is desired.
Ability to travel for short periods to job sites throughout North America and Internationally.
Above average verbal and written communications skills, including: organization and direction of technical personnel, experience in procedure and process documentation and technical report writing.
Education and Experience:
Engineer with 5 + years experience in Mechanical Engineering with experience in power generation equipment. Minimum four-year college degree required.
Applicable work experience will be considered in lieu of advance degrees or direct experience in Mechanical/Electrical design of power generating equipment.
Preference will be given toward candidates with prior work experience in a service shop environment, particularly in the power generation business.
