Large Manual Lathe Machinist

The Company is seeking a skilled Large Manual Lathe Machinist that possesses 3 to 5 years of experience in machining, shop practices and techniques working with large irregular pieces to 42 ft. x 7 ft.

Abilities and responsibilities include:

  • Read prints complicated engineering drawings and specifications and plan repair procedures

  • Lay-out set-up, adjust, and operate large lathes and indicating stands to exact tolerances and finishes

  • Determine operational sequences and tooling arrangements

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering & Planning to develop process, routing, and or tooling to increase improved performance

  • Machine and fabricate parts, and perform skilled fitting and aligning

  • Transport parts and components to and from work area using advanced rigging skills

  • Manufacture and adapt tooling and attachments for special work requirements

  • Inspect finished parts and components with a variety of precision measuring instrument

  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to use geometry, algebra, and trigonometric principles together with a complete understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and tables.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move 50lbs.

Overtime is required and varies from job to job.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.
